The City of Red Deer and the County of Red Deer have lifted their fire bans.

With the recent rain and snowfall, and air quality at an acceptable level, the bans have been removed effective immediately.

All citizens are reminded to use their firepits safely.

“We thank everyone for their co-operation during the fire ban,” says city fire marshall Wes Van Bavel.

The county says it will continue to monitor wind and weather conditions. If hot and windy weather returns, another ban could be put in place.

Friday’s forecast is for rain. A high of 13 C is expected Saturday with a risk of a thunderstorm.
