The City of Red Deer will close some of the south bank trail starting June 22, for the foreseeable future.
The closed portion, from Taylor Drive to the CPR pedestrian bridge, adjacent to the water treatment plant, is expected to be shut down through Sept. 23.
Construction crews will be completing work in the river, which includes changes to an existing raw water intake structure.
The work is part of the residuals management facility project at the water treatment plant, the city says.
Trail users are encouraged to use alternate paths.
