City of Red Deer warns of road closures during Westerner Days Parade

The City of Red Deer is alerting residents of road closures, traffic detours and transit disruptions during the Westerner Days Parade this Wednesday.

Roadways on the parade route will be closed from 8 a.m. to noon and parking will not be permitted along the parade route. Residents are asked to use the 2023 Westerner Days Parade route, which is available on the city’s website, to plan where they should watch the parade.

There will also be transit disruptions during the parade:

  • The last departure from Sorensen Station prior to the parade will be at 8:45 a.m.
  • Busses into downtown during the parade will drop passengers off as close as possible to Sorenson Station. No busses will remain at Sorenson Station.
  • The first departure from Sorensen Station after the parade will be at 12:15 p.m.
  • Route 12 will operate during the parade. All other routes will stop service during the parade.

Transit users can visit www.reddeer.ca/MyBus to look up schedules, get up to date departure times and see where buses are in real-time with GPS tracking.
