ST. ALBERT — A driver is in hospital after his City of St. Albert transit bus crashed through two backyards and hit the deck of a house.

RCMP say the incident happened around the supper hour on Tuesday evening.

The bus, which was not carrying any passengers, drove off the road, hit a fence, a shed and a trampoline in one yard before carrying through another fence and colliding with the rear deck of a second home.

The driver of the bus was taken from the scene by ambulance, but RCMP say his injuries are not believed to be serious.

The owners of the first home were not home at the time.

The two adults and two children of the second home where the bus came to a rest were home and did not suffer any physical injuries but were shaken up.
