The driver of a combine harvester was taken to hospital after a collision with a train east of Lacombe on Friday afternoon.
CP Rail spokeswoman Salem Woodrow said the collision happened about 2:50 p.m. at a rural crossing at Range Road 25-4 and Township Road 41-0, about 10 km east of Lacombe.
“The crew immediately applied the emergency brakes but unfortunately was unable to stop in time,” said Woodrow.
“There were no injuries to our crew. But the driver of the farm vehicle did sustain some injuries and was transported to hospital.”
The crossing is marked with crossbucks.
RCMP and CP Rail police continue to investigate.
