Canada’s stand-out stand-up comedian, Ron James will be performing twice in Red Deer this month.

The award-winning James will be snarking and sniping about life during his Back Where I Belong Show, Friday and Saturday, Nov. 25 and 26, at the Memorial Centre.

James, who has starred in his own TV series, The Ron James Show, for five seasons, has been selling out theatres for over 20 years with his marathon, fast-talking observations.

With a comedian’s eye for satire and a writer’s ear for language, Ron takes his audience on what’s been described as “a breath-taking, non-stop roller coaster ride,” that cuts “a wide swath through contemporary culture with a razor-sharp wit, uncompromising standard and unique, poetically honed delivery.”

James, who has created nine record-breaking one-hour comedy specials that are a New Year’s Eve viewing tradition for many Canadians, wasn’t sidelined by the pandemic.

When he couldn’t tour, he was writing his first book, All Over the Map: Rambles and Ruminations from the Canadian Road, released by Penguin-Random House in September.

Now that James can hit the road once again, he feels he’s back where he belongs — live onstage delivering laughs “face-to-face, to audiences sitting shoulder to shoulder, from coast-to-coast, clear cross the Big Wide Open.”
