The G.H. Dawe Community Centre will have limited access over the summer months due to construction.

Although many city recreation centres will open fully to the public on July 1, the G.H. Dawe will not. The pool will remain closed until September and the facility will fully close from July 26 to Aug. 31.

On Sept. 1, the city anticipates the pool will be open, but some other amenities, like the gym, may not be available.

Playing surfaces in the arena will not be available until construction is complete, which is expected to be early 2023.

When the facility is completed, Red Deerians can expect two NHL standard playing surfaces, expanded fitness areas, including a running track, an outdoor spray park with washroom facilities, improved accessibility and an additional north entrance plus site access from 67th Street.
