Two individuals are facing charges after attempting to steal copper wire from a business in a rural area in Innisfail.
RCMP arrived on the scene of the theft at around 8:40 p.m. Sunday night, but the suspects had fled the area. With evidence gathered from the scene and from witnesses, the suspect vehicle was located a short time later at a motel in Innisfail. After a search of the motel, police recovered copper wire and break-in tools and the suspects were arrested.
Both individuals will appear in Red Deer Provincial Court in September.
