Innisfail resident Marcy Bloss has won first place in the Red Deer County Amateur Photo Contest and $500 for the photo above of a pelican taking flight near Dickson Dam. Boyd Black, of Spruce View, won second place and a digital camera and Trevor Olson won third place and a Red Deer County golf bag. Runner’s up were Margaret Dormuth, Kerzdenn Kowalchuk and Kathy Hetherington, with each receiving a $25 photo gift certificate. The goal of the contest is to gather digital images that can be used to showcase Red Deer County and be used on the county’s promotional material and website.
