CP Holiday Train arrives in Central Alberta Thursday

The famous CP Holiday Train is set to make its return to Central Alberta this week.

The famous CP Holiday Train is set to make its return to Central Alberta this week.

Thursday, the train will be in several different locations in the region, including Millet, Wetaskiwin, Ponoka, Lacombe and Blackfalds.

The train will arrive in Blackfalds at 12:45 p.m., at the CP Tracks at Gregg Street between Broadway Avenue and Womacks Road.

From there, it will head to Lacombe, arriving at 2 p.m. at the Len Thompson Fish Pond. It will arrive in Ponoka at 3:45 p.m (50th and 47 Avenue), before arriving in Wetaskiwin at 5:30 p.m. (CP ES Building 4009 50th Street) and Millet at 6:50 p.m.

Each stop is 30 minutes long.

Saturday, the train will stop in Innisfail (53 Street and 50 Street railway crossing) at 1:15 p.m., followed by an arrival in Olds (50th Street level railway crossing) at 2:45 p.m.

The 2022 tour launched on Nov. 23 with the Holiday Train’s first-ever Maine shows in Jackman, Brownville Junction and Hermon. Also for the first time, the Holiday Train hosted shows in Lac-Megantic, Sherbrooke and Farnham, Que.; the first Canadian stops of 2022. The 2022 tour will feature 168 live shows.
