City of Red Deer crews have closed 60th Street between 56th and 57th Avenues after a gas line was struck.
Red Deer Emergency Services have evacuated several homes and continue to monitor the scene.
However, the city says this is not a safety issue at this time.
ATCO Gas will be working to repair the line, but it could take some time so residents in surrounding area will be without gas until repaired.
