RED DEER — The Crown wants a two-year sentence for an Edmonton man who lured a 13-year-old girl to a motel before sexually assaulting her.
Adrian Lizotte pleaded guilty last November to charges of sexual assault and luring a child over the Internet.
Two other charges of sexual contact with a child and sexual counselling were withdrawn.
Court heard the 26-year-old man was in contact with the Red Deer teen for several months on the Internet before meeting up with her at a Red Deer motel where the assault took place.
The Crown says Lizotte should face three years of probation upon release, while the defence is seeking a community-based sentence.
The judge will bring down the sentence on March 11.
