A kiteboarder cruises across the windblown surface of Slack’s Slough south of Red Deer on Monday. A steady north wind gusting to 30 km/h made the kiteboarder’s day, but otherwise had Central Albertans bundling up tightly to avoid frostbite that drove the - 23C temperature colder still to - 34C.
