Red Deer RCMP tracked down and arrested suspect who fled from police in a stolen pickup truck on March 31.
Police say the Red Deer RCMP Crime Reduction Team were conducting patrols at about 5:30 p.m. when the driver of a grey Dodge Ram 1500, which was later identified as stolen, was spotted driving erratically in the area of Ross Street and 43th Avenue.
Following covert surveillance, a traffic stop was initiated in the neighbourhood of Riverside Meadows, but the driver rammed a police vehicle to escape, then struck a parked vehicle, and fled at a high rate of speed.
RCMP Police Dog Services located the suspect after he fled from the stolen vehicle on foot.
A 22-year-old Penhold man was remanded into custody and charged with possession of property obtained by crime over $5,000, dangerous operation of a motor vehicle, failing to comply with probation order, operating a vehicle while prohibited, failure to stop after accident, and possession of methamphetamine.
