Didsbury RCMP is investigating after a 19-year-old man died in a collision earlier this week.

Didsbury RCMP is investigating after a 19-year-old man died in a collision earlier this week.

Shortly before 10 p.m. on Thursday, police responded the scene of a collision between a pickup truck and a semi-tractor on Highway 22, approximately three kilometres south of Township Road 300. The Cremona Fire Department and EMS also responded.

The southbound pickup truck is believed to have crossed the centre line, entered the northbound lane and then was subsequently struck by the northbound semi-tractor.

The 26-year-old male semi-tractor truck driver and lone occupant was assessed by EMS at the scene and released.

The lone driver, a 19-year-old male from Cremona, was transported by EMS to a Calgary area hospital, where he succumbed to his injuries.

The RCMP Collision Analyst attended to assist with the investigation.
