The director of special education with the Red Deer Catholic Regional School Division has been honoured for her professional contributions. Sally Deck has been involved with special education for more than 19 years as a teacher, special education teacher and as the director of special education for the division. Deck has been given the Mac Kryzanowski Award by the Special Education Council of the Alberta Teachers’ Association. She has participated in a number of Alberta Education special education advisory committees on gifted education, technology for learning in special education, special education program standards and ESL proficiency standards development.
