CA Humane is thrilled to announce the “Change Their Luck” Adoption Month — featuring discounted dog adoptions and a Lucky Paws Open House on Saturday, March 16.

A “plethora” of medium and large-sized dogs are waiting for adoption at the Central Alberta Humane Society.

To free up room for incoming pets from a Northern Alberta animal shelter that’s closing, the Red Deer-based humane society is discounting dog and puppy adoptions for the entire month of March.

Visitors to CA Humane can spin a Discount Wheel for exclusive pricing on all in-shelter dogs. Depending on where the spinner lands, discounts can range from $50 to $200 off the usual adoption fee of $375 for adult dogs and $475 for puppies.

Plus there will be a chance to get a free adoption.

“It’s the perfect opportunity to find your new furry friend and change their luck by giving them a forever home,” said Richard.

She noted cat adoptions will also be discounted at the March 16th open house only.

It runs from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. and features door prizes, a retail discount of 25 per cent on pet supplies, raffles, and guided shelter tours.

“It’s a day packed with fun for the whole family and a chance to meet some of the wonderful animals waiting for their forever homes,” said Richard. She believes the adoption specials and open house “are fantastic opportunities…to connect with our shelter and find a perfect match.”

Admission to the CA Humane Open House is free, and everyone is welcome to attend.

Central Alberta Humane Society is a local independent charity dedicated to rescuing, caring for, and re-homing animals in need.
