A dog rescued Sunday, died Monday after being struck on QEII.

The dog who found a loving foster family Sunday, Klassic Kennels stated on Facebook, got away early morning Monday.

“Unfortunately, due to traumatic past and the stress of being moved, early this morning she got away from her foster family and took off before they had a chance to gain her trust,” the Facebook post said, urging “it’s too cold and she needs your help,” followed with instructions on what to do.

In other updates, the agency posted the dog was spotted in Inglewood and around Oxbows Off Leash Dog Park in Red Deer.

In the most recent update, the agency posted she was struck on the highway just over two hours after she got away, “and did not make it.”
