A husky dog lapsed into a coma after licking a baggie that likely had contained drugs.
A GoFundMe fundraiser, organized by Zoey Mcdonald of Blackfalds, has been set up to raise $2,000 to help pay the cost of veterinary care.
The owner of five-year-old Lilac said on the site that Lilac came into contact with the baggie while on a walk around Blackfalds a couple of nights ago.
“I pulled her away but I thought nothing of it, unfortunately the worst happened it was a drug baggy and caused my dog to started having seizures,” the owner said.
She was rushed to the veterinarian at about 12:30 a.m. and fell into a coma near 4 a.m.
As of Monday morning, $345 had been raised through the online fundraiser.
