After seven years in downtown Red Deer, the Bistro on Gaetz will likely close at the end of the month.
Owner Jean Cadorette said his lease was up for renewal, and after a lot of “humming and hawing, we decided not to renew.”
Cadorette has no issues with his central location, saying “I love downtown Red Deer,” but as he’s nearing retirement, he wants to focus on travel and other pursuits.
“I will miss my regulars,” he said, noting a lot of City of Red Deer workers walked over from City Hall to have their lunch at the bistro.
The lunch restaurant is up for sale, but so far, there has been little interest, said Cadorette.
If it doesn’t sell, it will close at the end of the month.
