Drugs and property seized in Wetaskiwin

RCMP recovered fentanyl, cocaine, methamphetamine and other drugs during an investigation in Wetaskiwin.

Maskwacis RCMP said officers seized the drugs from a residence Thursday, along with a stolen vehicle.

Police also seized more than $6,000, pepper spray, methamphetamine and various controlled prescription pills while searching another vehicle on Friday in connection to the investigation.

Maskwacis RCMP teamed up with Wetaskiwin RCMP for the bust.

“We are happy to work with our neighbouring detachments. Taking drug dealers off the streets has a positive impact on both of our communities and supports both of our strategies to reduce crime,” said Maskwacis RCMP Cpl. Rob Simmonds.

Domanick Fraynn, 25, faces nine charges, including possession for the purpose of trafficking, possession of a controlled substance, and possession of property obtained by crime.

Fraynn will appear in court Tuesday in Wetaskwin.

Alyssa Soosay, 25, faces eight charges, including possession for the purpose of trafficking and possession of a prohibited weapon.

Soosay was released on bail and will appear in court in Wetaskiwin on Aug. 4.
