Drugs, cash and gun seized in Red Deer bust

An investigation by Red Deer RCMP led to the arrest of a man and the seizure of drugs, cash and a weapon.

Police investigated a drug operation in the area between April and July, and on July 22, executed search warrants at two Red Deer residences and one vehicle.

Officers seized 82 grams of methamphetamine, 498 grams of cocaine, a firearm, ammunition and $10,660 in cash.

Blaise Domstad, 33, of Red Deer, faces a number of charges, including possession of a controlled substance for the purpose of trafficking, possession of stolen property over $5,000 and possession of a weapon for a dangerous purpose.

Domstad was released on bail and will appear in Red Deer provincial court Aug. 15.
