Drugs, property and gun seized in north Red Deer bust

Red Deer City and Rural RCMP have seized a shotgun, stolen camper trailer, stolen ATV, an undisclosed amount of marijuana and cocaine from a residence north of Red Deer.

Red Deer City and Rural RCMP have seized a shotgun, stolen camper trailer, stolen ATV, an undisclosed amount of marijuana and cocaine from a residence north of Red Deer.

On Monday at 8:30 a.m. police used a search warrant on a rural residence north of the city as part of an ongoing investigation. Two people were at the residence at the time and were arrested without incident. Red Deer City RCMP’s general investigation property section, Red Deer City RCMP crime reduction team, Red Deer RCMP police dog services and Red Deer Rural RCMP took part in the search.

Rodney Irvine, 39, of no fixed address, has been charged with two counts of possession of stolen property over $5,000, two counts of unauthorized possession of a prohibited weapon, two counts of possession of a prohibited weapon contrary to a prohibition order and two counts of possession of a controlled substance. He remains in custody is set to appear in court on Tuesday.

Karla Marshall, 24, of no fixed address, has been charged with one count of theft under $5,000, one count of possession of a controlled substance, one count of unauthorized possession of a prohibited weapon. She has been released from custody and is set to appear in Red Deer provincial court on Sept. 30.
