Drugs seized and stolen vehicle recovered in central Alberta

Innisfail and Red Deer RCMP partner to investigate

RCMP seized a variety of drugs and recovered a stolen vehicle during an investigation in Penhold last week.

Innisfail RCMP said one person was arrested in a stolen vehicle, and another arrested after a short foot chase on Dec. 23. A number of controlled substances including, GHB, oxycodone, and methamphetamine were found during a search of a nearby residence.

The accused face charges of possession of property obtained by crime, possession of break in instruments, flight from peace officer, obstruction, and possession of a controlled substance.

The investigation into drugs and property crime in the Penhold area began in November and involved Innisfail RCMP, Innisfail RCMP General Investigation Section, RCMP Central Alberta District Crime Reduction Unit and Red Deer RCMP Crime Reduction Team.

Innisfail RCMP encourages people to report any criminal or suspicious activity that they see. The public plays an important role in helping to reduce, prevent and solve crime.
