Cocaine, fentanyl and methamphetamine were found in a hotel room in Sundre, RCMP say.

Thursday, Sundre RCMP arrested two people staying at a hotel after the drugs and several thousand dollars in cash were found in their room.

Carl Bjorkman, 45, of no fixed address, and a 17-year-old female, of Olds, were charged with drug trafficking.

Bjorkman was remanded into custody and the youth was given court-imposed conditions and released to a relative. Both will appear in Didsbury provincial court.

“The combined efforts of the Sundre RCMP detachment and the RCMP southern Alberta crime reduction unit were effective in shutting down this individual’s criminal activities within the Town of Sundre,” said RCMP Cpl. Joe Mandel.

“Not only did this individual prey on our vulnerable, but brought unwanted criminality into the Sundre community.”
