Naturalist Judy Boyd who is also the community liaison for Medicine River Wildlife, holds one of three rescued ducklings above the manhole in order to attract the attention of a fourth chirping duckling that had swum into one of the sewer lines.

The ducklings had fallen through the sewer grate while following their mother, which according to Judy is a common occurrence this time of year.

The plan was that once the brood had been reunited with their mother, they would be taken to one of the water areas on the outskirts of the city.
