Marnie Giesbrecht and Joachim Segger, who make up duo Najoya, play the Létourneau pipe organ in Gaetz United Church during the First Thursdays in the Snell performance Thursday.

The Edmonton pair performed pieces by Bach, Mozart, Merkel and Red Deer’s Cheryl Cooney during the lunch hour concert.

The church is celebrating its 125th anniversary this year and marking the 25th anniversary of the installation of its 1400-pipe organ.

It was western Canada’s first by Fernand Létourneau of St. Hyacinth, QC and is a tracker organ featuring all mechanical action designed to last centuries.

First Thursdays in the Snell returns to the Red Deer Public Library July 5th.
