Early morning fire at Burnco

Red Deer City fire-medics were called to a blaze at Burnco at 4305 77 Street around 2:36 a.m. Saturday morning.

Red Deer City fire-medics were called to a blaze at Burnco at 4305 77 Street around 2:36 a.m. Saturday morning.

Black smoke billowed from the building after a conveyer belt caught on fire. However, Red Deer Emergency Services got the flames under control by 3:14 a.m.

No one was hurt in the blaze.

Two pumpers, an aerial platform truck, command unit and ambulance were on site. There were 15 fire-medics and a platoon chief at the fire. The cause of the blaze hasn’t yet been determined.
