Eckville man charged with child porn offences

Australian police provide tip

A tip from police in Australia led to child porn charges against an Eckville man.

An arrest came after ALERT’s Internet Child Exploitation (ICE) unit received information from a specialized online child exploitation unit of the Queensland Police Service about an Alberta suspect allegedly involved in trading child pornography images online.

ICE searched homes in Eckville and Fox Creek associated to the suspect. A number of computers and electronic devices were seized and submitted for forensic analysis.

Christopher Juneau was arrested on Jan. 10, with the assistance of Sylvan Lake RCMP. He was charged with making child pornography, possessing child pornography, accessing child pornography, and voyeurism.

Juneau was arrested for a second time on Jan. 18 by Sylvan Lake RCMP for allegedly breaching his release conditions relating to internet access.

Anyone with information about this investigation, or any cases related to child sexual exploitation, is encouraged to come forward and contact police or cybertip.ca.
