Edmonton man who offered babysitting on Kijiji facing child pornography charges

Police say an Edmonton man who has posted ads offering to babysit has been charged with child sexual exploitation offences.

EDMONTON — Police say an Edmonton man who has posted ads offering to babysit has been charged with child sexual exploitation offences.

The Alberta Law Enforcement Response Team says Jason Michael Campbell, who is 36, has been charged with possessing, accessing, and distributing child pornography.

ALERT says Campbell has provided babysitting services in Edmonton for the past 16 years, and has routinely posted advertisements with the online classifieds website Kijiji.

Police say there is no evidence to suggest that children in his care were sexually exploited.

ALERT says it got a tip on Nov. 18 from the RCMP’s National Child Exploitation Co-ordination Centre that an Edmonton man was suspected of uploading child exploitation images to a website.

Campbell was scheduled to appear in court Thursday.
