Edmonton shootings that critically injure two men not considered random

Two men are facing life-threatening injuries after separate shootings in Edmonton.

EDMONTON — Two men are facing life-threatening injuries after separate shootings in Edmonton.

Police say a 48-year-old man was shot when several males threatened a couple after forcing their way into a north-end home late Monday night.

While police and emergency medical crews were at the scene, a vehicle pulled up and the driver asked for help with a 22-year-old man who had suffered a gunshot wound several blocks away.

He was taken to hospital in critical condition.

No arrests have been made and the police gang unit is helping with the investigation.

Investigators say the shootings do not appear to be random, but they don’t think they’re connected. (CHED, The Canadian Press)
