Emily Parker-Ristau, 6, of Red Deer has been a busy collector of bottles for the past year. With 42 contributors, Emily raised enough money in 10 months to take a trip to Disneyland with her family. Upon returning from her trip, Emily began collecting again, but this time to send a low-income family to Disneyland. Emily’s Recycle and Dream Foundation has been formed to handle the dollars raised and it’s hoped the first family to receive a trip to Disneyland will get their chance to go in 2012. A community bottle drive with the Big Brothers and Big Sisters will be held on July 7, and an ongoing drive will be held each Saturday at the Red Deer Market.
