Employee at Bethany CollegeSide in Red Deer tests positive for COVID-19

An employee at a Red Deer continuing care facility has tested positive for COVID-19.

On Friday, the Bethany Care Society confirmed Bethany CollegeSide is currently in outbreak, as defined by Alberta Health Services, after one employee tested positive for the virus.

“Resident and employee safety is our number one priority,” Bethany Care Society said in a statement.

“We continue to follow all precautionary measures outlined in the CMOH orders. In consultation with our family councils, Designated Support Person visitation is suspended while the site is in outbreak, with the exception of end of life or in extenuating circumstances.

“Bethany continues to work closely with our provincial partners to ensure the best outcomes for our residents.”
