Canada Post has confirmed an employee at the Red Deer mail processing plant on 67A Street tested positive for COVID-19.

In an email statement, the company said they have followed the guidance of public health by informing employees, supported contract tracing, and sanitized the facility.

As a result, the company was only able to provide some mail services Thursday.

“We will be providing some services (Thursday) in Red Deer and communities served by this facility, but full mail delivery may not be possible Thursday,” Canada Post said in an email statement.

“We are expecting the facility to reopen (Thursday) with contingency plans to minimize the impact on delivery services to our customers.”
