Employment concluded for Red Deer Catholic superintendent

Interim superintendent appointed

Red Deer Catholic Regional Schools’ board of trustees has announced that Paul Mason is no longer the division’s superintendent, effective immediately.

The board passed a motion Tuesday concluding Mason’s employment.

Associate superintendent Kathleen Finnigan has been appointed interim superintendent.

Red Deer Catholic Regional Schools thanked Mason for his years of service, but the board had no further comment, saying it was an internal employment matter.

Mason was named superintendent in 2011. Previously, he was assistant superintendent of personnel services for the division.

Mason started with Red Deer Catholic in 2007.

He was previously the director of infrastructure with Wetaskiwin Regional Public Schools and a principal.
