A former base commander from Canadian Forces Base Edmonton has been appointed to hold the fort while the Town of Sundre recruits a new manager.
Doug Wright, who most recently served as chief administrative officer for the City of Leduc, has been hired as an interim replacement for Sundre CAO Dean Pickering, who resigned for medical reasons. Pickering was CAO in Sundre for 10 months when he advised town council that he was unable to continue in his job.
Wright said on Tuesday that he likes the area but has not applied for a permanent position.
