Drivers heading to downtown Red Deer this weekend should leave a little extra time in their travel plans.

In a press release Friday, the city said there will be delays at the intersection of Ross Street and 47 Avenue due to traffic signal installation.

Stop signs will be in place and the intersection should be treated as a three-way stop.

There will also be construction at the intersection of 19 Street and Sharpe Avenue on Feb. 2. Crews will be working to activate new traffic signals and remove existing signage.

On Feb. 2, traffic signals will be in flashing operation to alert motorists of the new signals. Signs to notify drivers of the new traffic lights will also be installed.
