An extreme cold warning is in effect for parts of Central Alberta including Red Deer, Lacombe and Sylvan Lake.

An extreme cold warning is in effect for parts of Central Alberta including Red Deer, Lacombe and Sylvan Lake.

The cold warning is also in effect for parts of County of Stettler near Big Valley, Camrose County near Camrose, Ponoka, Lacombe County near Clive, Alix and Blackfalds, Red Deer County near Penhold, Innisfail and Bowden.

Red Deerians can expect -33 C tonight with the wind chill.

Environment Canada recommends watching for cold related such as shortness of breath, chest pain, muscle pain and weakness, numbness and colour change in fingers and toes.
