Environment Canada has issued an extreme cold warning for much of central Alberta.
Wind chill is expected to hit -40 C overnight. It will start to warm up on Wednesday afternoon.
Extreme cold warnings are issued when very cold temperatures or wind chill creates an elevated risk to health such as frost bite and hypothermia.
The warning is in effect for parts of Camrose County Flagstaff County, County of Paintearth, County of Stettler, Lacombe County, Ponoka County and Red Deer County.
