A female driver was killed early Tuesday morning in a two-vehicle crash near Sylvan Lake.
At about 5:45 a.m., the Sylvan Lake RCMP and fire department responded to a collision on Hwy 11, 600 metres west of Hwy 781.
Police say an east-bound Pontiac minivan was struck by a west-bound Dodge truck. The van sustained heavy damage and the lone female occupant suffered fatal injuries.
The lone occupant of the truck was not injured.
Police say blowing snow and a slush-covered road surface were contributing factors in the crash.
The name of the deceased has not been released, pending notification of next-of-kin.
The crash is being investigated by an RCMP collision analyst.
