Finalists for 2021 Red Deer Chamber business awards announced

Finalists have been announced for the 2021 Business of the Year Awards, presented by the Red Deer and District Chamber of Commerce.

Finalists have been announced for the 2021 Business of the Year Awards, presented by the Red Deer and District Chamber of Commerce.

An independent committee of local business leaders selected 15 finalists from more than 55 nominations.

The finalists are:

-In the 1-19 full-time equivalent employees category — Apple Teddy Ciders and Juices, Cook with Meg and Love, Yoga, Grace.

- In the 11-20 full-time equivalent employees category — Breathing Room Yoga Studio and Cafe, Edwards and Holloway Health and Wellness/Alberta Institute of Alberta, and Masterpiece Salon.

- In the 21 or more full-time equivalent employees category — Collegiate Sports Medicine Inc, Go Services and Horizon Family Medicine.

- For the Young Entrepreneur category, the finalists are Bestea Chill Out Cafe, Doortender and Taco Monster.

- The Non-Profit Award finalists are — Central Alberta Child Advocacy Centre, Habitat for Humanity Red Deer Region Society and The Mustard Seed.

Businesses are nominated by the public and chamber volunteers interview nominees to develop material for the adjudication committee.

The committee then does an evaluation to determine the finalists and the eventual winners (although the identities of the winners are sealed and embargoed.)

Winners will be announced at an Oct. 20 ceremony at Red Deer Polytechnic Arts Centre.
