Red Deer Emergency Services crews clear out the damage from a garage fire in Morrisroe on Wednesday morning. Crews responded to the call around 9:23 a.m. A 74-year-old man was treated in hospital for minor injuries. The fire was contained to the garage and a vehicle within, causing $30,000 in damages. Investigators have determined the cause to be accidental, as a result of welding too close to combustible materials. Emergency Services reminds the public to clear combustible materials away from welding tools and to ensure proper ventilation. The man has since been released from hospital.
