An Eastview resident suffered minor injuries when a basement fire broke out in an Erickson Drive home on Tuesday afternoon.
Red Deer Emergency Services were called to the home about 2 p.m., said assistant deputy chief Jon Evans.
A man was the only one in the home at the time and he was able to get out with minor injuries from smoke inhalation. He was treated at the scene.
The fire appears to have started in the basement. The cause of the blaze is still under investigation and no damage estimate is available yet.
Erickson Drive was blocked off south of Ross Street and at Eastman Crescent while firefighters responded to the fire.
