Set to take their first rides on a school bus Kash, left, and Reno Dolphin and their mother Stephanie take part in the first program of its kind in Red Deer. Seventy- five kindergarden students with parents and siblings took part in the First Rider Program through the Red Deer Public, Red Deer Catholic Regional and Chinook’s Edge School Divisions on Tuesday.

Young riders get an introduction to what riding a school bus is all about.

The 45-minute event had four activity stations to help children learn about getting on and off the bus and how to stay safe during the ride.

More students were to take part in a early evening session as well.
