The first ever Mother's Day Run, also know as the Only Women's Fitness Fun Run, took place in Red Deer on Sunday.
Starting from the east parking lot of the Parkland Mall, participants were given the options of a 5km, 3km or 1km run.
For the 9 a.m. 5 kilometre run 353 runners lined up for the start and ran along the trail system southeast of the mall.
A portion of the funds raised will go to Family Services of Central Alberta.
