Police say five people, including two from Wetaskiwin, are facing various charges in relation to a homicide.

The RCMP Major Crimes Unit began investigating the disappearance of 32-year-old Daniel Jason Coursol on Feb. 20, who was missing since Feb. 14.

On April 23, human remains were recovered in the area of Maskwacis. An autopsy was completed at the office of the Chief Medical Examiner in Calgary, with assistance from the Red Deer RCMP Identification Services, and the deceased was confirmed as Coursol.

Three people are charged with first-degree murder: Wetaskiwin’s Jamie Wasp-Colin, 36, and Edmonton’s Christopher Davies, 33, and Paula House, 44. House is also charged with accessory after the fact to murder and caused indignity to human remains.

Wetaskiwin’s Shereen Miller, 27, and Edmonton’s Kara Pounder, 31, are charged with accessory after the fact to murder. Miller is also charged indignity to human remains.

All accused have been remanded into custody.
