The flood watch for the Little Red Deer River and high streamflow advisory for the Red Deer River and its tributaries upstream of Dickson Dam issued over the weekend ended on Tuesday morning.
There was no weekend flooding in the low-lying area of Red Lodge Provincial Park, just west of Bowden, said park staff.
The park and Westward Ho campground, 10 km east of Sundre, were two of the areas being monitored as water levels rose between 0.25 and 0.5 metres in the Red Deer River basin.
According to Alberta Environment, the water level status was falling slowly in the Red Deer River on Tuesday.
“The upper Red Deer River basin average from Saturday to Monday morning was about 30 mm,” said Alberta Environment spokesman Jamie Hanlon, speaking to the amount of precipitation that fell.
He said while it was a good amount of rainfall, higher amounts such as between 60 to 90 mm, would be “significantly” more problematic.
“Nothing we have here indicated that any flooding occurred. One of the reasons the advisory went up was given the special weather statement that Environment Canada had issued. ... Thankfully the event wasn’t as large an event as what was forecasted.”
