Flu clinics open today

As flu season continues through the winter, Central Albertans can still get a shot to prevent H1N1.

As flu season continues through the winter, Central Albertans can still get a shot to prevent H1N1.

Influenza vaccination clinics in the Central Zone have reopened after the Christmas break and are now available in communities across the region. Alberta Health Services reports it’s committed to providing vaccine to all Albertans who want it.

It has posted a number of locations until Jan. 15.

Red Deer will host a drop-in clinic today from 1-7 p.m. at Kentwood Alliance Church, 4 Kennedy Drive.

Eckville will have one today as well from 10 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. at the Eckville Community Health Centre at 5120 51 Ave. It’s by appointment only.

Rocky Mountain House will have an appointment-only clinic on Friday from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. at the town’s health centre, located at 5016 52 Ave. Other clinics will be held Monday Jan. 11 to Friday Jan. 15.

People are asked to bring ID and a health card, and wear short sleeves if possible.
