Alberta Health has located more flu vaccine and is offering it to infants.

Children who turned six months of age between Dec. 1 and March 31 will be eligible for the shots.

Vaccine is also still available to all children under nine years old who received their first of two doses already. Two doses are necessary for full immunization for children.

Parents can call Health Link Alberta toll-free at 1-866-408-5465 or their local Public Health Office for more information on getting the vaccine.

Vaccine is no longer available to Albertans outside of these two groups.

Alberta Health Services recommends people cover their mouths and noses when coughing or sneezing or use an arm to cover up. Washing hands regularly and thoroughly is recommended, as well as staying home when sick.
