Fluoridation talks Monday

People who want to talk fluoride with Red Deer city council are encouraged to attend a community café on Monday, from 5 to 7 p.m., at City Hall.

People who want to talk fluoride with Red Deer city council are encouraged to attend a community café on Monday, from 5 to 7 p.m., at City Hall.

City council is deciding whether to continue, stop or change the amount of fluoride in water that supplies the city and regional customers.

Council wants to hear from customers in Red Deer city and county, Lacombe city and county, Ponoka County, the Town of Ponoka and Blackfalds.

After public feedback is gathered, council plans to debate whether to go to a citizen vote on fluoride or decide the issue without a plebiscite.

People who cannot attend can visit www.reddeer.ca to fill out an online survey or contact Tara Shand, senior communications consultant, at 403-356-8984.

To book the Red Deer Transit Action Bus to attend the community café, call 403-309-8400 no later than Monday at noon.

The event will be held on the second floor of City Hall, located at 4914 48th Ave.
